One Justice Calls for Immediate Intervention to Stop the Israeli Aggression on Gaza

Published

on

One Justice organization in France is closely following with great concern the new Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in civilian casualties due to the disproportionate use of force by the Israeli army.

One Justice strongly emphasizes that the brutal attacks by the Israeli army on Gaza on Tuesday, May 9, which resulted in the killing of 13 people, most of whom were civilians, including 6 women and 4 children, represent a flagrant and unacceptable violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, particularly the right to life. The high number of casualties raises concerns within the organization about the Israeli occupation army's intention to deliberately target civilians in Gaza, in clear violation of the principles of proportionality and distinction, which are fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.

The organization points out the possibility of the Israeli army committing an act of treachery during its aggression on Gaza, which is prohibited under international humanitarian law, as the recent Israeli airstrikes on Gaza came after efforts by regional and international mediators to restore the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip between the armed factions and Israel. The organization reminds that this violation may rise to the level of a war crime.

The One Justice organization holds the Israeli government responsible for the security deterioration in the region due to its repeated attacks on Palestinians, and condemns its recent brutal airstrikes on Gaza. The organization urges the international community to exert pressure on the Israeli government to stop its ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people, and considers that the continuation of Israeli violations in Palestinian territories is due to the weak role of the international community in activating mechanisms of accountability and prosecution against Israeli leaders for their violations.
